New to M-DCPS???

Hello Parents, Lamar Louise Curry Middle School will be holding a Drive-Through Orientation on Thursday, August 20th for students who are new to Miami-Dade County Public Schools. We will be providing you with information on how to access and navigate the parent portal as well as providing you with your parent pin which will allow you to link your child to your portal. If your child is not new to Miami Dade Public Schools and you need a parent pin you may also participate to acquire the pin. The Drive-Through Orientation will be taking place Thursday, August 20th, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at our school’s bus loop. Should you have any questions please call our school at 305-222-2775.

Relay for Life Cancelled

Curry Cubs,

In the abundance of caution, they have cancelled Relay for Life of Kendall on Saturday, March 14, 2020.  We apologize for the short notice, but as we see a growing number of updates from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and other sources regarding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19),  it was in the best interest of our Relay community to cancel this years’ event.

Cubs, we urge all of you to continue your fundraising efforts to support the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. We plan to honor your online fundraising efforts with a 2 Hour C/S Voucher and we will also host a jean’s day at Curry (more info coming soon).

After completing your community and service activity, please take a moment to reflect on your experiences.  You must use font Times New Roman, size 12 and double space your reflections.

Include answers to the following questions:

  • From your experience, what did you learn about giving without expecting anything in return?
  • What do you now understand about the area in which you volunteered?
  • What did you learn about yourself in the process?
  • What connection does the service have to your academic work, career plans and values?
  • What interesting careers have you learned about through this project?

 

Do you have the following items ready???

Make sure you have the following documents in order to have a complete community service packet to submit before or on the deadline:

  1. Coversheet (available online)
  2. Original, approved Proposal(s)
  3. Community Service Log showing 10 or more hours.
  4. Proof of Participation (Photos, Letters, Vouchers, etc.)
  5. Reflection(s)
  6. Printed Rubric (available online)
  7. Note that ALL students are required to create a Project Board to Showcase their work!
